I’m Nathaniel Cook, a passionate and versatile cellist dedicated to creating powerful musical experiences that connect deeply with audiences. Whether I’m performing in a concert hall, recording in the studio, or playing for a luxury event, I bring warmth, adaptability, and a deep love for storytelling through sound.
I studied cello at Chapman University’s Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Roger Lebow, Jacob Braun, and Laslo Mezzo, and I perform on a beautiful Italian cello crafted in 1785. My musical journey spans a wide range of genres—including classical, jazz, Indian classical music, rock, and contemporary pop. This broad scope allows me to approach each performance with openness and creativity.
Some of my most memorable moments include performing in the orchestra for Andrea Bocelli, and appearing on stages like the American Airlines Center, Bass Hall, and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. I’ve also played for high-profile events produced by HBO and Disney, and brought live music to more unconventional spaces like the House of Blues in Dallas, Santa Monica, and Irvine.
Currently, I serve as Associate Principal Cellist of the Fort Smith Symphony, contributing to celebrated recordings including works by Florence Price. As a founding member of the Cavalle Quartet, I explore new dimensions in chamber music. I’ve also collaborated with brands like Gucci and Dior, and recorded with labels including Sony and Naxos—bringing a classical voice into modern and unexpected contexts.
At the heart of everything I do is a desire to move people. I believe the cello can do more than sound beautiful—it can tell stories, stir memory, and create moments that stay with you long after the final note fades.
